Seymour Duncan Steve Bailey Active Jazz Bass® System, 2-Band

Steve Bailey’s fretless bass demands a pickup system that can go from the bite of a blues trio, to the edge of a power trio, to the warmth of a jazz trio, to the Extremes of a bass duo. This system was designed deliver ultimate control from the studio to the stage. The calibrated neck and bridge active J Bass® pickups are custom-voiced to enhance Steve's fretless playing.

The 2 band Tone Circuit provides bass and treble controls, a master volume, a blend control, and a special frequency contour switch which is engaged by pulling up of the volume control. It is optimized to bring out fretless harmonics, as well as mid-range boost. There are two small trim pots on the circuit board can be tweaked to preset the frequency contour EQ just the way you want.

This system will work in any J Bass® that has space for 3 control knobs and a single 9v battery in the control cavity. Two 9v batteries can be wired together in series for added headroom. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA.
