In the neck position this pickup sounds sweet and smooth, and delivers big, fat sounding chords. The dual alnico 5 bar magnets, and the short, wide bobbins give the P-90 its unique tonal character with a powerful midrange and higher output than most other types of single coils. It is a drop-in replacement in any traditional Gibson-sized P-90 rout. It is wound with plain enamel wire, on the same Leesona winder that was used in the 1950s in the Gibson factory. Pair it with a Vintage P-90 bridge for a perfectly matched set, or combine with either a Hot P-90 or Custom P-90 bridge pickup for a more versatile, aggressive setup. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA.
