Details
The Vintage Flat is essentially the same pickup as the Vintage Staggered, but with flat pole-pieces. This gives it better string balance on modern guitars with flatter fretboards. The tone has slightly less edge, but still delivers all the chime and sparkle you expect from a good Strat® pickup. Like all Duncan's vintage-style pickups, the bobbins are assembled with the proper color and thickness of hand-filed Forbon flatwork and alnico 2 magnets. The bobbins are then lacquered, and wound with heavy Formvar mag wire. Use a full set of Vintage Flat Strat® pickups for the ultimate vintage tone, or in conjunction with a Custom Flat in the bridge for a more rocking setup. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA.
