The Active Soapbar Phase II is similar to Duncan's original ASB soapbar pickups, but with some extra fire inside. The EQ has been shifted to deliver heightened mid range and a slightly harder attack, without being harsh. There is an overall hi-fi tone, and the response gives you razor sharp detail in the lowest of lows and highest of highs. Every note is precise and super-tight, which is paramount to intricate playing styles, or when using overdrive or gain in your signal chain. The internal split-blade design underneath the cover allow for the best string-to-string balance of any soapbar. It is a direct replacement for any EMG 40 sized pickup rout. Many players combine it with the Duncan 2 or 3 band EQ Tone Circuit preamps, to add sophisticated EQ sculpting. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA.
