Bass Body Pickup Routs
Pickup routs on most models are ordered individually, and may be mixed and matched. Not every pickup rout is available on every body style, or in every position. See individual body models for details.
4-String Pickup Routs
Jazz® 4-String Bridge (3-3/4")

- Depth of rout is 3/4" (19.05mm)
- This bridge position rout is slightly wider than the Jazz® 4-String Neck rout. This is standard.
- A 70's Reposition Mod is also available, which relocates the bridge pickup rout 3/8" (9mm) closer to the bridge, similar to 70's era Fender® basses.
Jazz® 4-String Neck (3-5/8")

- Depth of rout is 3/4" (19.05mm)
- This neck position rout is slightly narrower than the Jazz® 4-String Bridge rout. This is standard.
- Some Made-in-Mexico J Basses® use 3-5/8" pickups in both the neck and bridge positions. If you plan to use MIM J Bass® pickups, be sure to measure them.
Standard Precision (P Bass®-style)

- Single P Bass® pickups are generally used in the neck position. It can be combined with other pickups in the bridge position (often a Jazz pickup) for more tonal options.
Music Man

- This rout is available in the neck and/or bridge location.
- You can also specify a single Music Man pickups in the "Warmoth Sweet Spot,", which relocates the bridge rout closer to the neck.
Single Coil P Bass®

- This rout is available in the neck position on the '51 and '54 P Bass® bodies. You can choose other routs in the bridge position for more tonal options.

This rout fits the EMG 35 pickup.

5-String Pickup Routs
Jazz® 5-String Bridge (4-1/8")
These routs fit standard Jazz 5 neck and bridge pickups, including the Seymour Duncan SJ5 67/70-b and SJ53-b.

- This bridge position rout is slightly wider than the Jazz® 5-String Neck rout. This is standard.
Jazz® 5-String Neck (4")
These routs fit standard Jazz 5 neck and bridge pickups, including the Seymour Duncan SJ5 67/70-n and SJ53-n.

This is the standard J Bass® 4-string bridge rout, but it also fits pickups sometimes used in 5-string applications, such as the Seymour Duncan SJB-5b, AJB-5b, and DiMarzio Ultra Jazz 5.

This is the standard J Bass® 4-string neck rout, but it also fits pickups sometimes used in 5-string applications, such as the Seymour Duncan SJB-5n and AJB-5n.

Seymour Duncan ASB-5

This rout fits the Seymour Duncan ASB2-5, EMG-40, and Bartolini M4 pickups.

Standard Precision (P Bass®-style) - 5-string
This is the standard P Bass® 4-string neck rout, but it also fits pickups sometimes used in 5-string applications, such as the Seymour Duncan Pro Active P-Bass APB-1.

- This rout is the same size as the 4-string. Most pickup manufacturers follow these dimensions as well.
