Unique Choice Fretboards for Guitar
Warmoth's Unique Choice section allows you to browse our stock of premium fretboard blanks and choose the exact piece of wood Warmoth will use when building your custom neck. No guesswork or blind purchases. You'll know exactly what you're getting from the start.
How to Purchase
To purchase, just add the Unique Choice fretboard you want to your cart. (Be sure to follow the sizing guidelines below.) Then use the custom builders to spec out the neck you want it used on, and choose "Unique Choice" as the Fretboard option of your neck. Once we receive the order for your custom part we will use your corresponding Unique Choice item in its construction.
- Unique Choice blanks are not sold seperately. To order one you must also order a corresponding body or neck using our custom builders. If you purchase one without a corresponding neck or body your order will be voided.
- If you add more than one Unique Choice item to an order, please use the order notes to specify which UC item goes with which body or neck.
- Unique Choice items are non-cancellable, non-returnable, and non-refundable.
Important Sizing Information
UC Fretboards come in two sizes: universal and standard.
- Standard Size - fits regular-scale guitar necks only.
- Universal Size - fits all guitar and bass necks.*
Standard Size fretboards fit the following guitar necks only:
- All 25-1/2" scale necks
- All Gibson-scale coversion necks
- 7/8 Warhead neck
- All Mustang/Jaguar necks
Universal Size fretboards fit all necks, but are required for the following:
- All 34" scale 4-string bass necks
- Baritone Conversion guitar necks
- Bass6
- Necks with a 24 fret extension
- UC fretboards are positioned on the neck at Warmoth’s discretion. We strive for the best balance of beauty and stability, but we cannot guarantee exact placement of the figuring.
- If you choose a Universal Size UC blank and a regular size guitar neck you can expect that much of the figuring at the ends of the blank will be lost when it is positioned on the neck.
* The following necks are not compatible with Unique Choice Fretboards:
All 5-string bass necks, and all Gecko necks.
