We have also helped to pioneer many advancements in guitar technology, including the compound radius fretboard, the conversion neck, and the "drop-top" laminate top. We use a blend of modern and traditional guitar-building techniques. CNC machi...

Fretboards are curved across their width to accommodate the natural shape of fingers in playing position. Some are curved a great deal, while others feel almost flat. The amount of a fretboard's curvature is referred to as its radius. Fretboards with a small radius are more curved, while those with a large radius are more flat. The measurement is arrived at by extending the arc of the fretboard to form an imaginary circle around the neck. The radius of this circle is the fretboard's radius. ...

On a scalloped neck the fretboard is sanded to a concave shape between each of the frets. This increases clearance and reduces friction between fingers and fretboard, making bends and lead techniques quicker and easier. Scalloped fretboard users include Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Ritchie Blackmore, and John McLaughlin.
Scallops are available on Modern construction 25-1/2" scale and Gibson®-Scale conversion guitar necks only.

Cut and Installed String Nuts
Cutting the nut is one of the most challenging steps in setting up a guitar neck. Let Warmoth do this work for you. We custom-cut every nut to account for the fret height, string spacing, and fretboard radius of the neck, which translates to smooth action and great playability. ...

Truss rods help wooden guitar necks withstand the constant tension of steel guitar strings. They are also adjustable, allowing players to change the curvature of their neck for the best playing action. Truss rods generally fall into two categories: the Vintage Single style and the Modern Double style. Both are available from Warmoth. Vintage Single Truss Rods
The vintage style truss rod consists of a single steel rod that is held in a bowed position within the neck. One end is anchored within ...
