On a traditional Strat® pickguard, only the pickguard mounting holes are countersunk. The Neck Pocket Option allows you to choose either Strat® or Tele® neck pocket shape for your pickguard. The Tele® shape is flat, while the Strat® shape is rounded. You can choose either Strat® or Tele® shapes. Be sure to choose the neck pocket shape that matches your guitar body.

The 24 Fret Reposition option repositions the neck pickup rout towards the bridge. If you plan to use a 24-fret neck with your body, this option is necessary to accommodate the extended fretboard. 24 Fret Reposition of Neck Pickup Rout

The Index Hole Fill option becomes available if a bridge pickup rout is not selected. It allows you to either leave the hole, or fill it with an Abalone or Mother of Pearl dot. If a bridge pickup rout is not chosen, the index hole will remain visible.

J Bass® Bridge Pickup 70's Rout Reposition The 70's J Bass® reposition option relocates the bridge pickup rout approximately 3/8" (9mm) closer to the bridge. This custom tweak results in a sweetened mid-range that is sometimes referred to as the "burpy" tone, made famous by Jaco Pastorius and other finger-style players of the era.

The control plate that Warmoth sells has a slightly different angle where it meets the pickguard than the Fender® control plate, as shown in the diagram below. Choosing the pickguard option that corresponds to the control plate you intend to use will allow them to fit together correctly, without gaps or overlap.
